Bali, with its gorgeous beaches and revitalising spas, is an ideal venue to tie the knot.
On the surface, it has all it needs to be a perfect wedding venue – beautiful beaches, lush green mountains, world class hotels, revitalising spas and a unique culture. However, there are many things you need to be careful with when planning to tie your nuptials there.
The first thing to consider is the venue. For such a small island, Bali is remarkably diverse in its scenery and many couples are torn between choosing the lush green mountain location of Ubud in the island’s centre or the up-scale beach resorts of Jimbaran and Nusa Dua on the south coast.
For those wanting to avoid a beach-side setting, Ubud is the best choice. This is Bali’s cultural heart and home to numerous temples with many artists and authors also setting up home here.
Most people’s image of Bali though, is of a blue sea-ringed island possessing fabulous white beaches. Therefore, it is unsurprising that the beach resorts of Sanur, Nusa Dua and Jimbaran are very popular with soon-to-be-married couples. These resorts cater mainly to up-market guests, although the rates are still cheap, and the area boasts many renowned resorts such as the Ritz-Carlton, the Oberoi, Hilton and Four Seasons, among others.
