Come and Sample the Best in Balinese food between 16 to 20 October 2010

Running for five days from 16th to 20th October, the Nusa Dua Fiesta 2010 is a celebration of the greatest Balinese culinary delicacies. The festival will see chefs preparing famous local dishes at live cooking stations positioned throughout the event. Chefs will also be giving advice on how to make the traditional Balinese Bebek Betutu dish of spiced duck wrapped in banana leaves.

To test the skills of individual and professional chef teams the Indonesian Chef Association is also setting a culinary challenge competition. Chefs will be given the opportunity to showcase their abilities in fruit and vegetable carving as well as butter and ice sculptures.

Visitors to the festival can also learn how to bake an original Balinese wedding cake and the art of making a Gebogan Janur, a Balinese offering made from native fruits and flowers, woven together with palm leaves.

The festival takes its name from the southern Nusa Dua area of the island which is a popular area for tourists due to its pristine white sandy beaches. As such demand for cheap Bali hotels is likely to increase as extra visitors head to the area for the festival.

In addition to sampling the best in Balinese food, attendees to the show can view the displays of ethnic art as well as catching up on the latest fashions and a host of other activities that will be running throughout the event.
