During Eid ul-Fitr, Borobudur Expects 220.000 Visitors

During the coming Eid ul-Fitr, the Borobudur Temple Park expects an increase in visitosr of 10 percent compared to last year.

According to the Head of the Borobudur Temple Park, Pujo Suwarno, ten days after 2009 Eid ul-Fitr, the number of temple visitor amounted to 200.000 persons. “Consequently, 10 days after the coming Lebaran, it is expected to increase to 220.000 persons,” he said yesterday.

Meanwhile this Ramadhan, there is a sharp decrease of domestic tourists. “Up to 50 percent,” he said. Foreign tourists’ visits remain stable.
