President Soesilo Bambang Yudhoyono officiated a tourism area in Sebong Bay, Riau Islands Province, on Saturday.
The 338-hectare tourism area, which is planned to be a “Water City Resort” equipped with apartments, hotels, amusement parks, malls and international ports, was named “Pesona Lagoi Bintan” by Yudhoyono.
A consortium of companies, including Malaysia-based Landmarks Berhad, are working on development of the area. The first phase is scheduled to be finished in 2015.
