The Central Java administration has set aside Rp 9.3 billion (US$1.03 million) to promote its “Visit Central Java 2013” campaign, according to an official.
Central Java Tourism Agency Head Prasetyo Aribowo says that the budget will be allocated to promote the campaign through billboard, television, print and radio advertisements.
The province has set aside Rp 1.4 billion and Rp 400 million from the total budget for advertisements in two separate billboards, to be installed at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport, respectively.
“We will also advertise on billboards on Central Java’s borders,” he said on Tuesday as quoted by tempo.co.
Prasetyo said that the province targeted to lure 250 million tourists, including 500,000 foreign tourists, during the campaign.
To reach the target, he said Central Java would hold several tourism festivals, including the Borobudur International Festival, as well as sports and music events
