Mandala Airlines to resume operations on April 5

Mandala Airlines will resume operation on April 5 after having stopped all flights in early 2011, Sandiaga Uno, CEO of Saratoga Group (shareholder of Mandala Airlines), said here on March 29 at a press conference.

"We will fly again on April 5. The first route will be Jakarta-Medan and Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur," Uno stated.

Initially, he noted that Mandala Airlines would operate three Airbus A-320 planes.

Currently, the Saratoga Group and Singapore budget carrier Tiger Airways Holdings Ltd are the owners of Mandala Airlines` stock.

Previously, Tiger Airways Holdings Ltd had announced that Mandala Airlines will operate Airbus A-320 aircraft and will adopt Tiger`s business model to offer low-fare travel to international and domestic

Indonesian destinations within a five-hour flying radius.
