French Cultural Week to be held in Jakarta

The French Institute in Indonesia (IFI) in cooperation with Kuningan City mall management will be holding a French Higher Education and Cultural Week on May 17-20 at the mall.

There will be free French lessons, movies, music concerts, screenings of French short movies and an exhibition of French film posters, kompas.com reported Monday.

There will also be presentations and consultations for education in France, both generally and personally.

Diana Nafiah, who is in charge of IFI’s communication and partnership division, said that the event will be held at 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. everyday at Kuningan City in South Jakarta during the duration of the event.

Through the event, IFI wishes to introduce itself for a closer relationship with Indonesians as well as to broaden their perspectives.

IFI is not just responsible for French lessons or concerts in Jakarta but also acts as a French government institution working in education, research and culture sectors all around the world.

Other than in Jakarta, IFI also operates in Bandung, Yogyakarta and Surabaya.(Jakarta Post)
