Mount Kelud (1,731 meters) in East Java erupted last night, spewing rocks and dust. The eruption was preceded by earthquakes.
No casualties have been reported so far.
Many airports, as far away as Surabaya, Solo and Yogyakarta are closed due to volcanic ash,
