President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said on Monday that tourism in the
country would be boosted. Jokowi opened a limited Cabinet meeting with
talk of “efforts to build a tourism brand for the country and to boost
tourist visits”.
“Given that Indonesia’s tourist attractions are
diverse when compared to neighboring countries, we should be able to do
more [to attract tourists than our neighbors],” Jokowi said during the
meeting at Bogor Place in West Java.
The meeting was attended by a
number of ministers, including Coordinating Economic Minister Sofyan
Djalil, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti,
Transportation Minister Ignasius Jonan, State-Owned Enterprises Minister
Rini Soemarno and Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi. (Jakarta Post)
