More than 300,000 sophisticated world travelers have cast their votes in the 29th Conde Nast Travel Readers’ Choice Award Survey, picking their favorite destinations, airlines, cruise lines, cities, islands, hotels, and resorts.
Although failing to rank as high as demonstrated in past surveys, the Island of Bali and the luxurious resorts featured prominently in the 2016 results in the follow categories:
Best Island in the World
Bali ranked #10 among the best islands of the world, but did include a cautionary note to skip Kuta and Denpasar and head for the Central Bali community of Ubud.
50 Best Resorts in the World
The Mulia, Bali, Indonesia ranked #37 – the only Indonesian hotel to rank in the world’s top 50 resorts.
The World’s Best Airline
While Garuda Indonesia failed to earn a spot among Conde Nast’s best aviation companies, Singapore Airlines that offers regular flights each day to Bali was ranked as the World Best Airline.
Top Resorts in Asia
Among the resorts in Indonesia that ranked the very best in Asia, Bali predominated with:
#2 – The Mulia, Bali
#13 – Como Uma, Ubud
#14 – Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay
#18 - Nihiwatu, Sumba Island
#22 – Anantara Uluwatu Bali Resort
#35 – Ritz-Carlton, Bali
#36 – Mandapa – A Ritz Carlton Reserve (Ubud)
#38 – AYANA Resort and Spa
#40 – ALILA Villas Uluwatu
