Four Seasons Bali Awarded 2 Five-Star Ratings Following Renovations

In its first star-ratings for Indonesia, Forbes Travel Guide has awarded the coveted Five-Stars to both Four Seasons Resorts Bali at Jimbaran Bay and Sayan, recognizing “virtually flawless service and amazing facilities” and reaffirming their status as Bali’s leading luxury resorts.

The two Four Seasons resorts were among just three hotels in Bali to receive the highest possible star rating in the 2017 Forbes Travel Guide awards. The news comes as Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay, a pioneer of luxury resort design modelled on an authentic Balinese village, prepares to relaunch following a major renovation of all 147 pool villas, including completely new Premier Villas and the highly-anticipated Royal and Imperial Villas. Meanwhile, the architectural masterpiece of Four Seasons Sayan continues to evolve with a soulful yoga and wellness program, new restaurant concepts and off-the-beaten-track adventures into the wilderness to offer guests new ways to discover Bali.

“To have not one, but both of our Bali resorts awarded Five-Stars by one of the world’s toughest ratings systems, is a huge honour,” said Uday Rao, General Manager of Four Seasons Resorts Bali. “Every day, our team members make me proud in delivering seamless Four Seasons service. Just recently, a guest wrote to tell me of their experience: they checked out of Jimbaran Bay and left a shirt hanging in the wardrobe; when they arrived at Sayan, 75 minutes away by car, the shirt was hanging in the villa wardrobe there. The shirt had beaten them to Sayan, and they hadn’t even realized they’d forgotten it! I love this story and how it highlights that service is what you remember the most, and it is our team who have achieved these Five-Star ratings with daily acts of kindness and thoughtfulness such as this one.”

Forbes Travel Guide rates properties in 42 countries throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific. It is the first time it has assessed hotels in Indonesia. Worldwide, 30 Four Seasons hotels and resorts earned the coveted Five-Star designation in 2017, setting the record for the highest number of Five-Star awards given to a single brand in the 60-year history of the Forbes Travel Guide Ratings. Each year, Forbes sends ‘incognito’ guests to anonymously visit hotels all across the world and assess them against a stringent criteria of over 800 standards relating to quality of service and facilities. Standards include everything from room cleanliness and comfort to details such as whether used towels at the pool are stored discreetly, and whether menus have water spots. Hotels that pass are given either Five-Stars, Four-Stars or a Recommended rating depending on their score.

Forbes Travel Guide plans to formally bestow the ratings at an Awards Ceremony in New York City on March 1. The announcement follows other prestigious awards for Four Seasons Resorts Bali recently:

Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay

2017 Conde Nast Traveler Best Resorts in Asia: #14 of 40 and referred to as “impressively accommodating for families”.

2017 DestinAsian Magazine Reader's Choice Awards: #5 of Top 10 Resorts in Indonesia. In the same awards, Bali was ranked the World’s Top Island and Four Seasons was ranked the World’s Top Hotel Brand for Leisure.
