Natuna to celebrate Senua Island Festival this week

Natuna islands, Riau Islands will celebrate the Senua Island Festival this week, during which traditional dishes will be served and art performances staged.

The festival is organized by the Riau Islands administration and will be held on June 16. Aside from enjoying food and art performances, visitors can also participate in various water sports competitions such as water polo, diving, swimming and beach volleyball.
The head of  the Riau Islands Tourism Agency, Buralimar, said he was optimistic that the festival would draw foreign visitors as well.

"There are around 20 yachts from various countries such as Australia that sail through Anambas and Natuna waters every year. Hopefully they [the passengers] can attend the festival on Sunday," Buralimar told Antara.

He also said there would be another festival in Anambas in July, namely the Padang Melang Padang Festival, as well as Tour de Kepri on October and Riau Islands Sea Festival in November. According to Buralimar, these events are only among the 200 tourism events across Riau Islands to be and to have been held throughout 2019. (JakartaPost)
