West Jakarta Administration will hold the annual Kota Tua Festival in the Fatahillah Square on Saturday, in conjunction with celebrations of 64th anniversary of Indonesia's independence.
Various activities and performances have been prepared for the festival, set to kick off at 10 a.m. and run until 10 p.m.
The opening of the festival will be marked with an exhibition and food fair in the morning, followed by a culture parade at 4 p.m., which will include a drum band performance, traditional attire, traditional dances from various regions and Chinese Barongsai.
"The Kota Tua Festival is a part of the city's annual agenda," said Nyoman Wedhana, head of West Jakarta culture and tourism agency, as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
A 10-square-meter stage, 44 booths for the exhibition and food fair, as well as public order officers and cleaning officers have been prepared for the day.
