What to Do in Bedugul

Situated in Tabanan Regency about 50 km north of Denpasar on a main route from South Bali to North Bali, Bedugul is one of Bali’s favorite spot for spending weekend for local and foreigners alike. Bedugul covers a large area of the central highlands of Bali around the villages of Candikuning, Pancasari, Pacung and Wanagiri. Apart from scenic panorama Bedugul also offers many interesting activities to spend the leisure time. The activities range from sightseeing around the lake to exploring the forest, from visiting beautiful lake temple to doing water sports on the lake.

A sightseeing trip in Bedugul is best when you start at Bali Botanical Garden (Kebun Raya Eka Karya), this 160-hectare garden is one of four official botanical garden in Indonesia. This botanical garden also has informative library, butterfly and orchid garden. Another must-see place in Bedugul is Pura Ulun Danu Bratan (Lake Bratan Temple), a beautiful temple with stunningly beautiful background. This temple is located on the shore of Lake Bratan giving an illusion that this temple is floating on the lake.
