A Dutch tourist and a local tour guide have been missing since Wednesday on Mount Agung on the Indonesian island of Bali's Karangasem district.
The Dutch tourist known as Eric, and Wayan, the tour guide, left for Mt. Agung on Monday at 10 a.m. local time with four other climbers. It was raining and Mount Agung was covered in cloud when they left.
The search and rescue team received the missing report yesterday when the four people who began hiking with Eric and Wayan returned.
“The group became separated. Eric called out to his wife, but then they lost contact,” Ketut Parwa, the Denpasar Search and Rescue Agency chief in Bali said on Thursday.
The SAR team started the search early on Thursday in foggy conditions with a visibility of only 2 metres.
