The Japanese Embassy in Indonesia in association with the Jakarta administration will hold the third Jakarta Japan Mastsuri (Jak-Japan Matsuri), an event from September 18-25 that will showcase Japanese culture.
“Jakartans, together with the relatively large Japanese community, have always shown appreciation of Japanese arts and culture,” Jakarta governor Fauzi Bowo said on Friday.
He added that Jakarta was ready to support the event, keeping in mind the close ties between Japan and Indonesia.
“This is also a form of Japan’s appreciation for the help and support Indonesia gave during the earthquake and tsunami disaster on March 11,” he said of the event titled “Thank You Indonesia”.
The event committee has prepared several programs, such as Japanese musical drama, traditional Japanese instrument performances and a lecture on Japanese tea that visitors can enjoy.
