Indonesia won third prize in the Go Asia Award 2012 at the Internationale Tourismus Borse (ITB), an international tourism fair held from Wednesday to Sunday in Messegelande, Berlin.
The Go Asia Award honors the winning countries as the best tourist destinations in Asia. First and second place went to Thailand and Singapore, respectively.
Tourism and Creative Economic Minister Mari Elka Pangestu praised the achievement and said that the momentum should be maintained to pursuit the target of 8 million foreign tourist arrivals this year.
“ITB Berlin is the precise platform to promote Indonesian tourism. We will evaluate and decide the strategy for next year’s promotion based on this achievement,” Mari said as reported by kompas.com from Berlin on Tuesday.
She added that Indonesia would be ITB Berlin’s official country partner next year.
“To get optimum results, preparations start from now,” Mari said.
