Adikarya Wisata 2012 awarded for Best Jakarta Tourist Companies

On Tuesday, December 4, the government of Jakarta extended the Adikarya Wisata Awards to the Indonesian capital’s best performing companies in tourism and tourism supporting industries, held at a spectacular gala lunch at the Mulia Hotel, Senayan.
The awards given ranged from Best 5-star hotels, to Best Restaurants, Best Mall, Best Museum, to Best Indonesian Airline, Best Foreign Airline, Best Taxi Company, Best Buses, to Best Local and National Media Supporting Jakarta‘s Tourism. Last year’s winners were not eligible for nomination.
This year’s nominees were chosen through a popularity poll undertaken by the Economic Faculty of the University of Indonesia, after which a panel of professional judges in their different fields combed stringently through all nominees, taking note of service standards, cleanliness, to “green environment consciousness,” and how well a company cared for its employees.
Best Jakarta Hotels, Travel Agents, Discos, and Restaurants
In the Hotel category, Best 5-star Hotel Adikarya Wisata Award in Jakarta went to the Park Lane Hotel at Jalan Casablanca in South Jakarta. Best Travel Agent went to Marintur, Best MICE organizers went to Pacto Convex, with Best Impresariat to PT Prima Java Kreasi.
Best Disco Award went to Immigrant at Plaza Indonesia. Best Spa was won by Martha Tilaar Salon & Day Spa at Jl. Wahid Hasyim, and Best Karaoke was XKtv at Senayan City Mall, while Best Golf Course was won by Royale Jakarta Golf Club near Halim Perdanakusuma airport.
Best Indonesian Formal Dining Restaurant award went to Kembang Gula at Jalan Jend. Sudirman 47-48. Best Indonesian Traditional Dining went to Beautika Manadonese Food at Jl. Abdul Muis, Central Jakarta. Best Western Foods went to Cassis at Jl. KH Mas Mansyur, Central Jakarta. Best Chinese Food to South Beauty at ANZ Building on Jalan Thamrin, and Best Japanese Restaurant was won by Sushi Tei at Plaza Senayan. Other Asian Foods went to the Penang Bistro at Jalan Kebon Sirih, while Best Bar and Lounge was won by Loewy at Oakwood Building, Mega Kuningan.
Best Supporting Airlines, Taxi, Tourist Bus, Newspaper, and TV Channel
Best National Airline was won by Citilink, while Best International Airline went to Emirates Airlines.
Best Taxi went to Taxiku, and Best Tourism Bus went to Big Bird.
Best Mall in Jakarta was awarded to Pacific Place, while Best Museum went to the National Museum at Merdeka Barat.
Best Tourism Secondary School was won by SMK Jaya Wisata 2 at Kalimalang, while Best Tourism Academy was won by the Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Ekonomi Pariwisata Internasional.
While for media, supporting the development and promotion of Jakarta Tourism, in the National Television category, SCTV won the Adikarya Wisata, with JakTV winning in the local TV channels category.
The top national printed media promoting Jakarta was awarded to Koran Tempo, and top local newspaper went to Warta Kota.
Last year Jakarta received 1.9 million tourists, up 5.9% compared to the previous year in 2010.
This year in 2012, Jakarta expects to receive 2.2 million international visitors and 26 million domestic tourists, said Deputy for Tourism and Culture, Sukesti Martono, speaking on behalf of the Governor of Jakarta. While with improved services and attractions, in 2013, Jakarta targets a 10% increase in tourist arrivals. (eTNGlobalTravelIndustryNews)
