The opening of the 2012 Lake Toba Festival was held at the Coastal Non Girsang Sirpangan Bolon, Bolon Sipangan Girsang District, District Simalungun, on Friday.
The festival will be held until December 31, 2012, opened with a parade of Siantar rickshaws (Becak) driven by BSA motorcycles made in England from the district capital Simalungun, Pematang Kingdom, headed to Parapat.
Highlights include Tor Tor dance and a boat parade with boats from all the districts around Toba Lake and bazaars.
The Becak Parade was followed by a torch carried by Ambassador of Tourism City Pematangsiantar Fera Yen in 2012.
