Garuda increases baggage allowance

Garuda Indonesia is enhancing baggage allowances with additional baggage weight allowed per passenger across its global network.

Effective this week, all adult and child passengers flying across Garuda Indonesia’s international routes will receive an additional 10kg increase in baggage allowance on the different travel classes.

The Economy Class weight allowance has increased from 20kg to 30kg while Executive and First Class have each increased from 30kg and 40kg to 40kg and 50kg respectively.

“With our entry into SkyTeam in March 2014, we will be further broadening and strengthening our global flight network linking Indonesia to major destinations around the world. During this growth period, it is key to keep tailoring our offerings to meet the changing needs of our passengers. We’re seeing more passengers travelling further with us and for a longer period of time and we’ve enhanced our baggage allowance to provide them with ample space for any journey whether business or pleasure,” said Nicodemus Lampe, Vice President, Area Asia, Garuda Indonesia.

Passengers travelling across Garuda Indonesia’s global network from 1 November onwards will be able to take advantage of the enhanced baggage guidelines to take along any equipment such as bicycles, surfboards, golf clubs or diving gear at no extra charge. Garuda Indonesia serves an extensive domestic and international network connecting over 40 Indonesian cities and 36 international routes across Asia Pacific, America, Europe and Middle East.
