About 45 of the capital’s 60 museums are slated to take part in the fifth Jakarta Museum Festival at Fatahillah Square in the historic Kota Tua area of West Jakarta from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday.
Head of the promotion section at the Tourism Agency Ida Zubaidah said in a press conference on Wednesday that along with an exhibition, the festival, marking Jakarta’s 487th anniversary, would also have various activities.
“Our highlight will be an Amazing Race for students, of the city’s museums. The students will have to find answers to quiz questions hidden in the exhibition areas,” she said.
She added that the organizing committee would also organize several competitions.
Ida said the agency had visited elementary schools in five regions to disseminate information about the festival. “We hope lots of students will be interested in visiting the festival,” she said.
