While, cumulative data for the first 2 months of 2015 totaled 1.5 Million foreign visitors arrivals, up  4%  compared to the same period year on year.  The surge in the number of tourists to Indonesia in February was due to the Chinese New Year holidays and increased Garuda Indonesia regular and charter flights from many cities on mainland China. Chinese New Year Celebrations were held across Indonesia especially the Cap Go Meh celebrations in Singkawang West Kalimantan, and in Yogya, Semarang, Bandung and other cities.
