Jakarta Great Sale Festival 2015

To last for over a full month from 6^th June to 12^th July 2015, the Festival Jakarta Great Sale (FJGS) 2015 will involve no less than 78 malls,multiple shopping centers and thousands of shops across the capital city. Shoppers can expect discounts of  up to 70% and exciting Midnight Sales. With these attractions, Jakarta is sure to be swarmed with shopaholics from all parts of Indonesia and abroad.

Carrying the theme “Jakarta Smart City, Smart Shopping”, the annual mega shopping fiesta is held in conjunction with Jakarta’s Anniversary which falls on 22^nd June.

The APPBI has this year again been entrusted by the Jakarta Provincial government to organize the event, which last year received a most enthusiastic response from shoppers in Jakarta, other parts of Indonesia andmany overseas visitors.

The Head of the Committee of FJGS 2015 and Chairperson of APPBI DPD Jakarta,  Ellen Hidayat,  stated that ”In future, FJGS is projected to be the shopping icon of Jakarta Smart City  and Indonesia. Furthermore, FJGS can boost  Jakarta's image as a world class shopping destination. The festival can also prove to Indonesians that shopping in Jakarta is, as a matter of  fact, better than shopping abroad” explained Ellen Hidayat as reported by antaranews.com.

Meanwhile Governor of Jakarta, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, popularly known as Ahok,  expressed his support for the shopping festival. Governor Ahok is optimistic that Jakarta can emerge as an international shopping destination since it offers high quality products but should   not be hampered by traffic congestions. “We truly support the festival, and will put our best efforts to attract shoppers to the 78 malls during FJGS. I am certain that people will flock to the capital city as long as products on sale are of high quality and offer value for money” added the governor.

This year’s FJGS has set the target of IDR14.3trillion in total transactions, increasing 10% from last year's, which came to around IDR13 trillion.

The opening of the Festival Jakarta Great Sale 2015 will take place at Baywalk Mall and will be highlighted with fashion shows and a feast of fireworks. As in previous years, FJGS will also feature  special shopping programs that offer attractive prizes through the FJGS Shopper card during the festival. (Indonesia.travel)
