More Friendly Ferry Fares Between Bali and Java

Ferry Tariffs Between Java and Bali Slashed Effective January 16, 2016

Precipitated by a decline in the cost of fuel, the Government reduced the fares for ferry crossings between Ketapang (East Java) and Gilimanuk (West Bali).

Effective at midnight on Saturday, January 16, 2016, the fares for all classes of travel and vehicles were reduced.

As reported by Metrobali.com, the manager of the Indonesian Ferry Service (PT ASDP), Wahyudi Susianto, at Banyuwangi confirmed the rate reductions were made possible by the lower cost of diesel fuel and instructions issued by the Minister of Transportation on January 12, 2016.

The reduction in ferry tariffs averaged 4.51% for vehicular traffic and 17.14% for pedestrian traffic.

Wahyudi took pains to underline that the reduction in fares would not affect ongoing programs to improve the quality of services provided by PT ASDP on the Ketapang to Gilimanuk service.
