To bring good fortune for the year ahead, join in the Chinese custom of tossing a plate of Yu Sheng or prosperity salad at Benkay Restaurant. During this traditional celebration, everyone must gather around the table and toss shredded bits of raw fish and vegetables into the air while exclaiming auspicious wishes. As eating dumplings on New Year’s Day is also thought to bring luck, Benkay will also feature Japanese Gyoza with homemade sauce.
The Dragon Dance has long been a symbolic part of Chinese culture for many centuries. Here at Grand Nikko Bali, you will have a chance to witness a lively performance by a troupe of dancers accompanying the barongsai.
