The Nusa Dua Fiesta returns to Bali November 12-20, 2016, with the theme of “Bring the World to Bali” and attractions ranging from cultural arts presentations, culinary celebrations, sporting events and international entertainment.
As quoted by Nusa Bali, Indonesian Minister of Tourism Arief Yahya said in Jakarta on October 31, 2016: “I appreciate the ongoing presentation of the Nusa Dua Fiesta 2016 because this event promotes foreign visitors to Nusa Dua and to Bali at the year’s end.
Minister Yahya credits Bali with being Indonesia’s main gateway for tourism, contributing as much as 45% of all foreign tourist arrivals recorded by Indonesia.
Through the support of the Nusa Dua Fiesta, the Minister hopes to boost international tourist arrivals before year’s end.
AA Ngurah Wirawan, Director of Operations for the Indonesian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) - the managers of the Nusa Dua Complex, revealed on Thursday. November 3, 2016, that the Nusa Dua Fiesta 2016 has a total budget of Rp. 4.5 billion. Wirawan explained: “In order to create a spectacular event it needs sufficient funding. This year's Nusa Dua Fiesta will have more stage performances and stages.” Adding: “For us, this large budget will create a more spectacular event and will be able to attract more tourists to Indonesia, especially Bali.”
Meanwhile, the CEO of ITDC, Abdulbar M. Mansoer said that ITDC as a State-owned Company (BUMN) was proud to be able to present such a colossal event. The Nusa Dua Fiesta, said Abdulbar, commences with the“road to Nusa Dua Festival" on November 12 with the Julio Iglesias ‘ concert.
The Nusa Dua Fiesta will be opened official by the Minister of Tourism on November 16, 2016, opening a week of festivities involving every corner of Nusa Dua.
The opening ceremony will include a cultural parade, a Sekar Jepun Dance, a colossal Kebo Iwa Dance, and a Bali Mandara Cak Performance. Each day of the Nusa Dua Fiesta will be filled with product exhibitions, Euro bungy demonstrations, a parade of food trucks, culinary demonstrations and body painting contests. Each evening will be filled with dance performances from Bali and India.
Among the Indonesian musical acts slated to perform are Balawan and Gus Tedja, Isyana Sarasvati, Yovie & Nuno, GAC, Maliq & D’essentials and The Groove. International acts appearing at The Nusa Dua Fiesta are Imela Kei, Sam Willow, and Sezairi (Singapore).
Sporting events include the Nusa Dua 10 km race, 5 km race and a kids’ run. The Nusa Dua Tennis Open will be held November 15-19, a Cross-Cultural Cycling event over 23 km on November 19th, the Nusa Dua Golf Tournament on November 20th, and a Green Hero Fun Walk on November 20th .
A street food (kaki lima) food event will be held November 16-20, 2016, as part of the Nusa Dua Fiesta.
