Ancol expects to welcome 270,000 New Year's Eve visitors

PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol, the operator of Taman Impian Jaya Ancol (Ancol Dreamland Park) in North Jakarta, said on Tuesday it had prepared new attractions, sufficient parking space and a large number of security personnel to welcome visitors during its New Year’s Eve festivities.
About 270,000 people were expected to flock to Ancol—higher than last year’s figure of 235,000 people—after it introduced several new attractions such as the “floating stage”, Rika Lestari, the company’s corporate communications manager, said.
“This year, visitors can watch music performances combined with LED shows that will be performed on a floating stage at Lagoon Beach,” she said at the park's complex.
Numerous famous Indonesian bands including pop band Noah and Wali, as well as Indonesian pop singer Vina Panduwinata will perform on Dec. 31. The park will also host traditional Reog Ponorogo dance performances (a traditional masked dance, commonly employing a lion mask from East Java), a Balinese kecak dance and musical fireworks.
“All of the musical attractions can be enjoyed starting from 9 p.m., while cultural performances in the art market will begin at 7 p.m.,” Pembangunan Jaya Ancol recreation director Teuku Sahir Syahili said.
Ancol management has prepared around 3,000 personnel to secure various venues comprising officers from the Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), the National Police and the Indonesian Military (TNI).
Two hundred buses would also be deployed to help guests move from one place to another within the park. (Jakarta Post)
