More Flights for the Holidays in Bali

More than 105,000 Additional Seats Available to Holiday Travelers in Bali

Jakarta Globe reports that Bali’s Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport is expected to handle 613 additional flights over the 2016-2017 Christmas and New Year period.

Airport officials in Bali say the additional flights will supply 105,516 additional seats on a number of airlines, including Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, Sriwijaya Air, Nam Air, Lion Air and Indonesia AirAsia.

The additional flight services will operate between Bali and Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Surabaya (East Java), Makassar (South Sulawesi) and Labuan Bajo, Waingapu, Maumere (East Nusa Tenggara) and other destinations.

Traditionally, the busiest days at Bali’s airport are December 23 and 24 and January 1-3. Expect delays on long lines if you are using Bali's airport on these dates.

Airport officials report that special command posts have been put in place and the airport’s infrastructure – including its runways – have been prepared in anticipation of the holiday rush.
