Investments in tourism facilities in Indonesia soared an incredible
256.4% throughout Q1 of 2014 compared to the same period last year
attaining US$130.13 million.
These comprise US$ 117.24 million in foreign investments and US$12.86
million in domestic investments. Whereas, in 2013, foreign investments
reached US$ 31.7 million and US$ 5.34 million in domestic investments,
making a total of US$ 36.51 million, said Director General for Tourism
Development, Firmansyah Rahim at the press conference in conjunction
with the Hospitality Investments World Indonesia 2014 seminar, as
reported by Bisnis Indonesia.

reported in March 2014, that Indonesia will have 53,100 additional
rooms in hotels that are in construction, in final planning, and in
confirmed projects.
According to STR Global the number of hotel rooms throughout
Indonesia grew by 35.7% last year, placing Indonesia at par with
Bangladesh, Mongolia, Myanmar, Srilanka, Bhutan and the Philippines
among the fastest growing destination facilities in the Asia Pacific.
While, seen from the number of rooms, Indonesia was leading.
Among major hotels in the pipeline are 10 super deluxe brands in Jakarta. These are the Waldorf Astoria Hotel & Resorts at Thamrin Nine, Fairmont Jakarta at Sentra Senayan, St Regis Hotel & Resorts Jakarta, Westin Hotel, Inter Continental Hotel, W Hotel, Raffles Hotel & Residences, Rosewood Jakarta, The Langham Hotel, and Sofitel So at The Hundred Kuningan.
Others opening are under local and international chains, including the Santika Hotels and Resorts under the brands of Amaris, Santika, and Santika Premier; the Accor Group with their brands of Ibis, Ibis Style, Ibis Budget, Mercure, Grand Mercure, and Novotel.
Also opening are hotels in the Archipelago International group under the brands Quest, Neo, Fave, and the Aston. Present will also be the InterContinental Hotel Group and the Holiday Inn Express, the Hilton Hotels and Resorts with their Garden Inn, and many others.
These are not only located in popular cities and business and tourist spots in Jakarta and Bali, but also in secondary cities across the archipelago that are now well connected by air to main and secondary market sources.
New budget and business hotels have also sprung up on the outskirts of Jakarta, such as at Serpong, BSD, Bekasi, Depok, Bintaro and others.
This year Indonesia targets foreign tourist arrivals to reach between
9.3 million to 9.5 million, while Indonesia’s domestic tourism
