A number of paragliders prepare to fly off Gantole Hill in Puncak, Bogor, in West Java on Saturday.
As many as 70 contestants participated in a paragliding championship that runs from Friday to Sunday, in preparation for the 16th National Games and an Asian paragliding championship to be held in Bali.
Head of the championship committee, Bucek Depp, said the event was organized by paragliding club Papatong, and that it included participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan and Australia.
"This is also to support Visit Indonesia 2008," Bucek said.
The championship assessed landing accuracy across three contestant categories: Senior, junior and female.
